Over 80 per cent polling in Mizoram assembly elections

Mizoram, Dec 05 (ANI): Amid tight security, polling for the 40 seat Mizoram assembly was held peacefully on November 25th. Over 6.9 lakh voters including 3.5 lakh women exercised their franchise at 1,126 polling stations to decide the fate of 142 candidates. The voter turnout this year has surpassed that of the 2008 assembly elections. The counting is scheduled to take place on 9th December. Police to seek maximum remand for Narayan Sai in sexual assault case

Surat, Dec 05 (ANI): Gujarat Police on Thursday stated that it would press for maximum remand of Narayan Sai, son of self-styled Godman, Asaram, who was arrested on charges of sexual assault. A court in New Delhi had granted a 24-hour transit remand of Sai along with two others to the police of Gujarat on Wednesday in the alleged sexual assault case.
