Chandigarh, Dec 28 (ANI): Former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh's assassins were released on Thursday on 28 days parole from Burail Jail in Chandigarh. Shamsher Singh and Lakhwinder Singh were given life sentences for their role in the assassination of Beant Singh on August 31, 1995 outside the Punjab civil secretariat in Chandigarh after a suicide bomber triggered the explosive tied in a belt around his waist.
