Rajnath Singh welcomes Jagdambika Pal, Raju Srivastava to BJP - Part - 2

New Delhi, March 19 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh welcomed veteran Congress Party leader Jagdambika Pal and Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Raju Srivastava to his party on Wednesday, with less than a month to go for the general elections. Describing both Pal as a leader of high political standing, Singh said that his decision to join the BJP, would go a long way in strengthening the party on the national stage. He said that both Pal and Srivastava have been given significant roles in the party. Former Congress MP and Uttar Pradesh unit chief Jagdambika Pal had earlier this month resigned from the Lok Sabha as well as from the party, saying that the emerging Congress leadership did not need leaders like him. Kolkata /Bangalore, March 19 (ANI): Contesting candidates are holding campaigns and filing their nominations, as India prepares to hold world’s biggest general elections, starting in less than a month. In a bid to support Trinamool Congress (TMC), leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, marched onto the streets of Kolkata with the party workers on Wednesday. Bandyopadhyay expressed confidence over his party TMC and said that the wave in the West Bengal is in favour of state chief Mamata Banerjee. Uddhav Thackeray expresses desire to form government in New Delhi

Mumbai, March 19 (ANI): At a news conference in Mumbai on Wednesday Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, expressed his wish to form a government in New Delhi. It was speculated that in its effort to ensure victory in the upcoming parliamentary elections, the BJP looked to forge an alliance with the Maharashtra Nirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray. However, the move irked Shiv Sena which considers MNS as major rival party in Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray said that the party wants to form a government in Delhi and the party would not tolerate any obstacle. Port Blair, March 19 (ANI): Indian authorities have instructed local sailors and fishermen in the Andaman and Nicobar islands to keep a sharp eye out and sound alarm if they see anything unusual in wake of the missing Malaysian Airlines aircraft, sailors said. Whilst India has put on hold its search for the missing aircraft at the request of the government in Kuala Lumpur, which wants to reassess the hunt for the vanished plane, fishermen and local boatmen said they had been instructed to exercise extra vigilance while out at sea.
