Singapore Foreign Minister eyes stronger relationship with India

New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): Singapore's Foreign Minister, K Shanmugam, met Indian trade minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, on Wednesday in New Delhi and said he looked forward to take the relationship between both the countries to a higher level. Foreign minister's five-day state visit, which started on June 30, also includes tour to Chennai and Hyderabad. Shanmugam is scheduled to hold diplomatic talks with India's Defence and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as well. Meanwhile, Shanmugam added that the world looked at India as it was a land with tremendous opportunity.

Sunanda Pushkar death case: Delhi Police Commissioner assures full investigation

New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Wednesday assured full investigation of the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Congress leader, Shashi Tharoor's wife, Sunanda Pushkar. The statement was made in wake of the Head of the forensic department of India's specialty hospital, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Dr. Gupta revealing that he was compelled to submit a fabricated report in the Sunanda death case. Bassi said that police will take all necessary steps to go into the root of the mystery. When asked whether Tharoor will also be questioned, he said whatever is necessary will be done.

Ladakh Gears Up For 'Kalachakra' Sermon

BJP legislators in Bihar protest against poor governance and law and order

Chhattisgarh hails appointment of new Governor

Raipur, July 2 (ANI): Chhattisgarh province hailed appointment of the new Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, as he took oath of office on Wednesday. The office of the Chhattisgarh governor had fallen vacant after Shekhar Dutt tendered his resignation. Yadav said that he will fulfil his responsibilities and play the designated role to the best of his capabilities. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh was also present at the inauguration and termed the appointment as a matter of pride. It is a matter of pride for the state of Chhattisgarh that we have got an experienced and eminent leader as our new governor. BJP had said that the governors who were being asked to quit were either facing court cases or were inefficient.

Politicians back CJI's remark over appointment of judges, BJP admits mistake

New Delhi, July 2 (ANI): Politicians on Wednesday backed the remark of Chief Justice of India RM Lodha over the removal of former Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium's name for the post of a Supreme Court judge, by the Modi government.
