US Secretary of State John Kerry meets Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi, July 31 (ANI): US Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Kerry visited India to re-energise the bilateral ties and to narrow the differences on various issues. The US envoy also met a delegation of Indian industrialists and held discussions on strengthening business ties between both countries. Kerry will be co-chairing the 5th India-US strategic dialogue with Swaraj. Kerry had earlier met Defence and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Jul 31, 2014

BSE closes points 192.45 down on July 31

New Delhi, July 31 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 192.45 points down to stand at 25,894.97. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 70.10 points down to stand at 7,721.30. IRB Infra and Pipavav Defence were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 7.79% and 4.55% along with The Ramco Cements Limited and Aurobindo Pharma with an increase of 4.39% and 4.35% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Cadila Health and Max India with a decrease of 4.02% and 3.30% along with Wockhardt and NTPC with a decrease of 3.18% and 3.01% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 97.03 points at 15,490.71 while the banking sector is down 208.90 points 17,485.61 and the realty sector is up 5.56 points at 1,894.02. Singh had earlier visited Amar Jawan Jyoti before demitting office and received the Guard of Honour at New Delhi’s India Gate. Singh also congratulated Suhag on taking office. 59-year-old Lt General Suhag, a Gurkha officer who had participated in the 1987 Indian Peace Keeping Force operation in Sri Lanka, will have 30-month tenure.
