Congress to pass anti-graft bill through ordinance, politicos draw contradictory reactions

Mumbai/ New Delhi/ Kolkata/ Lucknow, Feb 22 (ANI): After government decided to pass the Anti-Corruption Bills through an ordinance, political parties draw contradictory reactions over the same. Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi said that opposing the bill reflected the hypocritical nature of the opposition which had earlier asked for a strong law against corruption. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that there is no option left now when opposition never allowed the passage of bills in the Parliament. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal said that passage of any bill can't end corruption in any way. Narendra Modi praises Arunachal Pradesh's courage to defy China's threats

Pasighat, Feb 22 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial Candidate Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a rally in Pasighat area in Arunachal Pradesh. Modi appeared on the stage wearing a traditional attire of the state. Congress wants to become hero by passing anti-graft bill through ordinance: BJP

New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI): Reacting on government's decision to pass the anti-graft bill through ordinance, BJP Spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said that Congress wants to become heroes in the eyes of people by passing the bill when they failed to do anything else in their 10-year rule. Lekhi said that the opposition sat till 6:00 pm on Friday to pass the prioritized bills but Congress itself never mentioned the aforesaid bill during that time. Odisha law minister Maheshwar Mohanty shot at in Puri, injured

Bhubaneswar, Feb 22 (ANI): Odisha's law, tourism and culture minister Maheshwar Mohanty, was injured when two unidentified men opened fire at him near his house in Puri. Mohanty, 59, was driving a scooty back home from a function when two miscreants, who were apparently following him on a two-wheeled vehicle, opened fire at him in a narrow lane near Amala Club in the heart of the town at around 8pm on Friday, sources said. The minister sustained a bullet injury on his left arm and suffered head injuries after he fell from the scooty on being fired at. United Airplanes' aircraft grounded at Mumbai airport sighting "major damage"

Mumbai, Feb 22 (ANI): A Boeing 777 aircraft of American carrier United Airlines (UA) was grounded at Mumbai airport Friday night after engineers found that its right engine cover was badly damaged, officials said. The aircraft, operating flight UA-48 from Newark to Mumbai, was grounded, terming the damage as "major", the sources said, adding it was being suspected that the damage may have been caused during take-off. Agra auto driver kills American wife, blows himself up

Agra, Feb 22 (ANI): An American social worker Erin White alias Kiran Sharma who fell for an Indian auto driver and married him in Agra, was viciously stabbed to death by her husband, who later blew himself up. The police also added that Bunty Sharma had met Willinger when she visited Agra in July last year. They got married in a court on October 11 and started living together in the Shaheed Nagar Colony of the city. However, soon differences surfaced in their relationship and eventually they separated.
