BSF warns Pak that India will retaliate to ceasefire violation strongly

Jammu and Kashmir, Aug 27 (ANI): Amid growing ceasefire violation by Pakistan, director general (DG) of paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF), DK Pathak visited the border area and warned the neighbouring country that India will retaliate to unprovoked firing. Addressing a news conference, Pathak said he did not know what triggered such ceasefire violation for prolonged 45 days this year. He added that ceasefire violation is not new and it happened last year also and continued for around 26 days. He also alleged that their Pakistani counterparts are not responding to initiation of peace and are continuing the attacks on civilians. Guwahati, Aug 27 (ANI): Thousands of members of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) of Assam protested against the government for denying land rights to people living in the hilly regions and wet lands of the state and giving land to corporate houses instead. State Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had announced on August 13, during the state assembly session, that the government would not give land rights to the residents of the region but to multi-national companies, corporates and other people as a means to earn more money. New Delhi/Imphal, Aug 27 (ANI): Medal winners of the recently concluded Glasgow Commonwealth games were recently felicitated by Ministry of Sports at a function at Vigyan Bhawan in Capital New Delhi. Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju and former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar handed over the memento and prize money to the award winning players. India finished at the 5th position by winning 64 medals. The Manipur government also felicitated the commonwealth games participants from the state in a function at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal. While weightlifting gold medalist Sanjita Khumukcham received Rs.15 Lakh, bronze medal winner in Judo Kalpana Thoudam received Rs.8 lakh. 6 silver medalists- Mirabai Saikhom Chanu in weight lifting, Sushila Likmabam in Judo, Sarita Laishram and Devendro Laishram in boxing and Kangujam Chinglensana and Kotharjit Kadangbam in hockey received Rs 10 lakh each.
