Supporters mark Aafia Siddiquis birthday in Pakistan

Karachi, March 03 (ANI): About two dozen supporters of a Pakistani neuroscientist, Aafia Siddiqui, currently in US prison after being convicted of shooting at FBI agents and soldiers, gathered to mark her birthday in Karachi city of Pakistan. Carrying flowers and placards, supporters of Siddiqui stood behind bars representing a prison during the celebration to mark Siddiqui's 41st birthday. Aafia Siddiqui, whose conviction was widely criticised in Pakistan, was sentenced by a US judge in September 2010 to 86 years in prison after she was convicted of shooting at FBI agents and soldiers following her arrest in Afghanistan. AP Governor ESL Narasimhan to hold charge during Presidents rule in state

Hyderabad, March 03 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan said that the state which has now come under the President’s rule may be supervised by him as per the direction of President Pranab Mukherjee. He said the President has taken charge of the state with the intention of creating a congenial and conducive atmosphere for stable administration. The central government had recommended the imposition of President’s rule in Andhra Pradesh on Friday. On Saturday, Pranab Mukherjee gave his assent to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill, 2014 and also approved cabinet’s recommendation. Bangladesh mulling to bring Pak war criminals under trial: Prosecutor

Dhaka, March 03 (ANI): A top prosecutor of Bangladesh, Syed HAider Ali, on Sunday said he was examining papers and documents to bring Pakistani soldiers, accused of committing genocide during the 1971 liberation war who were released under 1972 Shimla Agreement, under trial in the country.
