Scorching heat wave sweeps through Uttar Pradesh

Kanpur/Moradabad, Aug 28 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh is reeling under scorching heat wave that is unusual in the month of August. Meanwhile irregular power cuts have added to the woes of people. In Kanpur people said that they had never experienced such hot weather conditions in the month of August before. Irked by the irregular power supply, a resident Alok Srivastav said that lack of rains this year had lead to such extreme weather conditions. The Weather department said one of the causes of heat wave was lack of rains in north India. Meanwhile in Moradabad, people hit the streets demanding electricity. Srinagar, Aug 27 (ANI): The National book fair held in the 'Kashmir Haat' ground in Srinagar city of Kashmir which attracted thousands of book lovers, promises to make future generations of the valley aware of the history, culture and heritage of the country. The biggest national book fair has been organised by the National Book Trust (NBT) in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy for Art, Culture and Languages, Federation of Publishers and Booksellers Associations in India, National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) and District Administration Srinagar.
