Two people die of asphyxiation in fire accident in Thane

Thane, Mar 16 (ANI): Two people died and two others were injured on Sunday in a fire accident that occurred in a residential building, in the city of Thane in Maharashtra. Reportedly, two elderly people died due to asphyxiation in the fire which broke out in a residential building in Thane. It was learnt that the reason for the accident was short circuit. Hammer procession heralds beginning of Holi festivities in Allahabad

Allahabad, March 16 (ANI): Although 'Holi', the festival of colours, is celebrated with dance and spraying colours on each other across India, but in Allahabad, residents celebrated it in their unique manner by taking out a hammer procession in which the hammer is adorned like a groom along with a fan as its bride. All the traditional rituals of a Hindu marriage were performed to wed the hammer and the fan on this occasion. The procession herald the beginning of Holi festivities. India pauses search for missing Malaysian Airliner

Port Blair, March 16 (ANI): India on Sunday has put on hold its search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, at the request of the government in Kuala Lumpur, which wants to reassess the week-old hunt for the Boeing 777 that is suspected of being deliberately flown off course. India had been combing two areas - one around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands; and a second, further west, in the Bay of Bengal. Both operations have been suspended, but may yet resume, defence officials said.
