Election commission ensures adequate security at critical polling booths

Bhopal, March 31 (ANI): Election commissioner of India, Syed Nasim Ahmad Zaidi informed that critical polling stations will be covered by one central paramilitary force adequately. Addressing a news conference in Bhopal, Zaidi divulged details of security on important polling booths. Steps have also been taken to ensure that the model code of conduct is strictly followed and funds are also not misused. NHRC directs Delhi Police to take action against Somnath Bharti

Musharraf's supporters demand his release to visit ailing mother in Pakistan

Karachi, March 31 (ANI): Dozens of supporters of former president of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf staged protest in Karachi demanding his release to visit his sick mother in Sharjah hospital a day ahead of his appearance in a court in treason case. 95-year-old Zarin Musharraf, mother of the former military ruler, was admitted to the WW Wilson Hospital in Sharjah on Saturday. Musharraf has been summoned to a Special Court set up to try him in a treason case for imposing emergency in the country in 2007. SC commutes Bhullar's death sentence to life imprisonment

New Delhi, March 31 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday commuted the death sentence of Devinderpal Singh Bhullar, who was convicted for a 1993 blast in Delhi, to life imprisonment. The central government has earlier said that it has no objection on the same. The lawyer in the case said that the reason for the development is the delay in the case and also mental health of Bhullar.
