Kanpur, March 29 (ANI): Family of Squadron leader of Indian Air Force (IAF), Ashish Yadav, who was killed in the cargo plane crash, resented no response from the Air Force authorities post incident. C-130J Super Hercules IAF cargo plane crashed on Friday, killing its crew of five, highlighting poor safety standards across the country's armed services. Yadav was a Squadron leader at the Hindon Air Base of Agra. Maoists threaten people to boycott 2014 polls in Jharkhand

Lohardaga, March 29 (ANI): Maoist extremists threatened the people of Lohardaga district in Jharkhand by distributing pamphlets asking people to boycott the upcoming general elections in the country. The pamphlet also warns of "actions" by Maoists, if people participate in the upcoming general elections. Inspector general of the Ranchi, MS Bhatia, said that the administration is perfectly ready to deal with the threat posed by Maoist during the elections. An expert on Maoist issues, Dheerendra Vidyarthi, is of the view that administration would need to deal with a number of problems to organise successful elections in the isolated regions of Jharkhand. CBI arrests IT officer and husband for accepting Rs 10 lakh bribe

Bhopal, March 29 (ANI): Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an a deputy commissioner of income tax department and her husband for accepting bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a builder to settle his tax penalty case in Bhopal. The arrested officer has been identified as Poonam Roy, who is a 2007 batch IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer. She was held along with her husband Ganesh Malviya who acted as a mediator. Reportedly, the builder filed a complaint with the CBI about money being demanded to settle the penalty and he had claimed that he had been paying his tax regularly. AAP chief attacked during poll campaign, calls it political conspiracy

Jind, March 29 (ANI): AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal has urged his supporters not to retaliate after an unidentified man on Friday attacked him during his poll campaign, as he called it a political conspiracy. The attacker climbed on to the open vehicle in which Kejriwal was travelling during the road show in Bhiwani district of Haryana and tried to hit him near his neck. Later, Kejriwal's supporters turned violent and the attacker was beaten up by them. First modern sports stadium under construction in Jorhat

Jorhat, March 29 (ANI): One of the oldest sports fields of Assam, which is run by Jorhat District Sport Association, will be soon transformed into an international standard stadium. The sports complex is being constructed at a cost of over 6 crore. While the gallery is being sponsored by the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resource (NLCPR) under the DoNER Ministry, the United Fund of Jorhat District Administration is funding the construction of the grounds and other facilities. The stadium will have a sitting capacity of 25,000 people. The project began in 2008-2009 and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
