BSE closes points 324.05 down on September 16

New Delhi, Sept 16 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 324.05 points down to stand at 26,816.56. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 109.10 points down to stand at 7,932.90. CASTROL INDIA LTD. and PEL were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 4.23% and 3.59% along with COLGATE-PALMOLIVE (INDIA) LTD. and FRL with an increase of 2.90% and 1.31% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include GMR INFRA and HDIL with a decrease of 10.26% and 8.03% along with JAIN IRRIGATION SYSTEMS LTD. and NATIONALUM with a decrease of 7.89% and 7.20% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 310.11 points at 17,568.13 while the banking sector is down 369.47 points at 18,138.30 and the reality sector is 60.28 points down at 1,700.59. Kolkata, Sept 16 (ANI): BJP candidate Shamik Bhattacharjee won the Basirhat Dakshin seat in West Bengal on Tuesday by a slender margin of 1,742 votes, while Trinamool Congress (TMC) Party nominee Nayana Bandhopadhyaya defeated her nearest BJP rival Ritesh Tiwari by 14,000 votes to retain the Chowringhee seat. The members of the Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) also celebrated at their office in Kolkata, after bypolls trends showed the party to be leading by a small margin. By-Poll Results: BJP suffers humiliating defeat in UP, Rajasthan; makes debut in WB

New Delhi, Sept 16 (ANI): The BJP suffered a humiliating loss as the by-poll results on 33 Assembly seats and 3 Lok Sabha seats were declared on Tuesday. The saffron party even failed to retain most of the seats where it was infallible sometimes back. The BJP suffered a jolt in Rajasthan winning just one of the four seats.
