Police arrest Maoist in Jharkhand

Chatra, July 01 (ANI): A most-wanted Maoist was arrested in Chatra district of Jharkhand. Based on secret information, police officials of Chatra arrested Bindu Ganjoo, a Maoist belonging to the Communist Party of India (Maoist). The police had announced a reward for finding Ganjoo, who has been wanted for over five rebel attacks. Chatra police have been searching for him since 15 years. Ganjoo is a resident of Degadevi village in Chatra and joined the CPI (Maoist) in 2009. It was only recently that he had left the outfit and returned back to his home. Jul 1, 2014

Bhopal / New Delhi/ Nagpur / Kanpur, July 01 (ANI): Oil Companies have raised the petrol and diesel prices by Rs 1.69 and Rs. 0.50 per litre respectively. The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) attributed the move to the rise in price of crude oil and forex market. Reacting over this, Food Minister, Ram Vilas Paswan, said situation was beyond their control. Meanwhile, Congress leader, Manish Tewari, hit out at the central government. BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that Iraq crisis is responsible for the situation. Ahead of his maiden budget, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is grappling with a food inflation scare, and now faces the risk that higher oil prices could swell the government's subsidy bill. Police recover arms cache from Maoists in Giridih

Giridih, July 1 (ANI): Acting on a tip off, the CRPF along with the district police recovered arms and ammunitions from Maoists in the red corridor of Jharkhand. A rebel was also reportedly killed during the police encounter. Superintendent of Police (SP), Giridih, Kranti Kumar, said that the combing was launched in the area to nab the red rebels but they escaped amid exchange of fire.
