Paswan and his son condemned the incident and demanded justice for them as they wish no compensation and just justice meted out to them. BJP workers protest against UP CM Akhilesh Yadav over Badaun gang rape case

Lucknow, June 02 (ANI): BJP women workers on Monday started protest against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav over the Badaun gangrape and murder case. In order to stop the protesters marching towards Yadav's residence and office, the state police used water cannons against them. There was heavy police deployment outside the Chief Minister's residence and office. Angry protesters claimed that the police also lathicharged them. Maharashtra inducts two new members in its cabinet

Mumbai, June 02 (ANI): The Maharashtra government inducted two new ministers in its cabinet on Monday. Incumbent legislator from Latur constituency of the state, Amit Deshmukh, took oath as the Minister of State while legislator Abdul Sattar from Sillod constituency took oath as the new Cabinet Minister. Governor of Maharashtra, K Sankaranarayanan, administered the oath of office to both the legislators at Raj Bhavan. Deshmukh is a first- time minister and the elder son of late Maharashtra chief Vilasrao Deshmukh. KCR takes oath as the first Chief Minister of Telangana

Waziristan caught in the crossfire

North Waziristan, June 02: Failure of peace talks early this year between the Pakistan Government and the Taliban has resulted in army action in North Waziristan. In one of the deadliest air strikes, Pakistan armed forces claims to have killed some 80 hardcore militants in a mountainous region bordering Afghanistan, known as a stronghold of Taliban and al Qaeda-links militants. Army said the strikes were aimed at those involved in recent attacks against the Pakistani armed forces. However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Imran Khan, expressed his "serious concerns" over military strikes in tribal areas and termed it a clear beginning of a full-fledged military operation in the region. Body of army official killed in Manipur blast arrives in his hometown

People demand hanging punishment for accused in Badaun rape case

Allahabad/New Delhi, June 02 (ANI): People in northern India took to streets protesting against the Badaun rape and murder case demanding for a similar fate for the accused. Supporters of the BJP and protesters in Allahabad hanged effigies of accused to a tree, saying the accused should be hanged in the same manner. Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, said existing laws should be implemented properly. Local police said a post-mortem confirmed that the girls, from the Dalit community, had been raped and died from the hanging.
