Narendra Modi meets Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): A day after taking oath as prime minister of India, Narendra Modi on Tuesday met his predecessor Manmohan Singh at his residence. Modi earlier met heads of all SAARC nations including Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and had talks over terrorism and also 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Modi also thanked all the SAARC nations for accepting his invitation to attend his swearing-in ceremony. Singh had resigned from office on May 17 and Modi took over the responsibility on May 26. New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): Indian Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh on Tuesday highlighted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with all SAARC leaders. Singh said that the PM held good and substantive meetings with individual leaders and held bilateral talks with each. She said that the PM held talks with each nation’s representative and discussed the concerned issues especially with Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in particular. PM Narendra Modi meets with SAARC nation heads

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): A day after he took oath as the 15th prime minister of India, Narendra Modi held "courtesy meetings" with leaders of SAARC countries. Modi greeted Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who arrived first at the Hyderabad House where the two leaders shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. Later in the day, Modi met Maldives President Abdulla Yameen, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay, Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam and Nepal PM Sushil Koirala. His most significant meeting was with Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif. The series of meetings will end with Modi receiving Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury. MiG 21 crashes in J&K, Defence Minister express concern

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): Indian Air Force fighter aircraft MiG 21 on Tuesday crashed in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in Kashmir, killing the pilot. The cause of the crash was not immediately known. Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday expressed concern over the crash and gave condolences to the pilot who lost his life and his family.
