New Delhi, Oct 24 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday saluted the brave personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on its Raising Day. "On the Raising Day of ITBP, I salute our brave ITBP personnel. We are proud of their valour, determination and service to the Nation," he said on Twitter. The ITBP was raised on October 24, 1962. Presently, the ITBP is deployed on border guarding duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh covering 3,488 km of Indo-China border and manning Border Outposts in the Western, Middle and Eastern Sector of the Indo-China border. Visakhapatnam, Oct 24 (ANI): Urban Development Minister, M Venkaiah Naidu, on Friday picked up the broom to clean cyclone-hit port city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cleanliness campaign. Andhra Pradesh and Odisha were recently hit by cyclone Hudhud that left a trail of destruction and killed around 41 people. It ripped apart tens of thousands of mud-and-thatch homes, flattened rice, banana and sugarcane plantations and snapped electricity lines. Prime Minister Modi launched the nationwide cleanliness mission on October 02 to raise awareness of cleanliness and better sanitation among its citizens under the banner of 'Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan' or Clean India Mission. On Friday, Naidu said Mahatma Gandhi had made inspiring statement that "cleanliness is next to godliness." To drive home his point, Modi had ordered government workers including his ministers to participate in the drive.
