India-Russia talks warm, cordial and wide ranging: MEA

New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Wednesday laid stress upon the bilateral talks between India and Russia during a meeting of India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj with Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry O Rogozin. New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): Actor Aditya Pancholi on Wednesday said he wanted the investigation over the death of actress Jiah Khan to be over soon and added that a SIT has been formed to probe the case. Aditya's son Suraj Pancholi had been arrested on the charge of abetting Khan's suicide, and had later been granted bail. The mother of the Bollywood actress, Rabiya Khan, has called on the new Indian Government to re-investigate her daughter's death, which took place last year, alleging that she had been murdered. There were reports claiming that several MLAs from the Congress and the AAP have been receiving phone calls, financial incentives in order to join BJP to form the government in Delhi. 40 Indians kidnapped in Iraq, No ransom calls received: MEA

New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Wednesday highlighted the issue of Iraq crisis where many Indians are also stuck. Akbaruddin said that 40 Indians have been kidnapped in Iraq’s Mosul but the authorities did not receive any ransom calls for their release. He added that out of the 46 Indian nurses in Iraq, many wanted to stay back but assistance will be provided to those who want to come back to India. Sprinter Dutee Chand returns home after winning gold medals in Asian Junior Athletics Championship

Bhubaneswar, June 18 (ANI): Sprinter Dutee Chand received rousing welcome at the Odisha airport after winning two gold medals in Asian Junior Athletics Championship held in China. Encephalitis spreading in Bihar, at least 92 dead

New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): Situation in Bihar is turning critical with the spreading of Encephalitis that took at least 92 lives till Wednesday. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav reshuffles UP Cabinet, politicos react

Lucknow, June 18 (ANI): After Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav met all ministers of his government and directed them to shape up or ship out, government ordered late night reshuffle of key cabinet portfolios on Tuesday. In the first major post-LS poll decision that affects SP ministers, the government downgraded many ministers and promoted some. At least 12 portfolios have changed hands, and prominent among them are Balram Yadav, who has been divested of the charge of Panchayati Raj and appointed Minister for Prisons. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary was made Minister for Political Pensions. He was earlier Minister for Prisons. Meanwhile, reacting over this, Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi said that mere reshuffling will not work, the ministers appointed should be allowed to do work. Meanwhile, the BJP targeted Akhilesh over this and said that the CM changed portfolios of ministers because they were not performing well but Akhilesh should introspect himself also because the ministries under him are also not doing well. Another candidate dies in Mumbai police recruitment drive, BJP demands probe

Mumbai, June 18 (ANI): Another candidate died on Wednesday in the Mumbai police recruitment drive which had attracted thousands of aspirants from across the state. At least five candidates have died till now in the drive due to tough training and poor living conditions. Twenty four year old candidate, Gahininath Latpate, passed away in Mulund's Platinum hospital, where he was admitted after falling ill during training. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya questioned the carelessness behind the unfortunate deaths. The candidates said they have to put up with lack of proper lodging and facilities. New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): Political leaders across parties have slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to take any action against Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Nihal Chand, who is an accused in a rape case of a married woman. The court in Jaipur, Rajasthan had summoned Chand and 17 others after a 20-year-old woman filed a complaint accusing her husband and his friends, including the minister, in a sexual assault case.
