700 cadets pass out from Indian Military Academy

Dehradun, June 14 (ANI): A total of 700 cadets passed out from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) on Saturday of which 636 joined the Indian Army while the remaining were foreign cadets. The foreign cadets are from Bhutan, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea and Afghanistan. After the passing out parade, the 636 cadets got their lieutenant's pips. The maximum number of new officers belong to Uttar Pradesh (121) followed by Haryana (62) and Uttarakhand (57). Our Jawans can counter Paks ceasefire violations, says Jaitley during Jammu visit

Srinagar, June 14 (ANI): Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday visited Raj Bhavan in Srinagar; a day after ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) was reported. Jaitley is on a two-day visit to the state and will be reviewing the security situation with the state government and senior military officials. Reacting on the recent ceasefire violations by Pakistan, Jaitley said that the Indian Army is capable enough to counter such attacks. On Friday, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by targeting Indian posts along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir with heavy firing, drawing retaliation by Indian forces. Mumbai continues to suffer from water logging due to high tide

Trivandrum/ Mumbai, June 14 (ANI): Mumbai city of Maharashtra continues to suffer from the problem of water logging due to high tidal waves that hit the shore on June 13. People in Mumbai are suffering from water logging as well as traffic jams which came as after effects of high tide. At some places, shanties were washed away and cars stood half-submerged in water. Search operation in Mandi gets strict, authorities to dry up Beas

Mandi, June 14 (ANI): Search operation to recover the bodies of students from Hyderabad who were washed away in Beas river is still underway. Civil authorities have given directions to stop water flow from Laarji Dam and forces are concentrating on a patch of a few kilometers. The SSB Commandant Shiv Ram said that forces have recovered a jacket and wallet of student along with some identity cards. Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat injured during emergency landing

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat was admitted to AIIMS hospital in Delhi after his chopper hit turbulence on Friday. He suffered a neck fracture and minor back injury because of the rough emergency landing. The Congress leader somehow escaped the deadly accident and is now stable but he would not be discharged right now. Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said in a statement that the plane must have collided with clouds due to turbulence and Rawat's belt was not tied so his head hit the roof.
