Shimla police organize anti-drug marathon

Shimla, June 29 (ANI): Police organised an anti-drug run wherein volunteers and locals wearing bright t-shirts and Red Ribbons wrist bands claiming a drug free lifestyle, ran on the streets of the hill town of Shimla on Sunday to spread awareness. Around 2,015 runners, including locals, tourists and policemen participated in the anti-drug run which was organised in two competitive categories- a half marathon of 21.5 kilometers and a mini marathon of 10 kilometers. The campaign, which is an annual feature in Himachal Pradesh, was initiated three years ago by the state police. Assam flood water level decreases, although currents still dangerous: CWC

Lakhimpur, June 29 (ANI): Lives of over 2000 people living in villages of Lakhimpur district in Assam were affected by floods, which is gradually decreasing after rains lashed through the region for last four days. Despite a reduction in the water level in the Nimati Ghat area in Assam, officials said the water currents are still very strong and prone to electrical hazards. Five districts of Assam were hit by flash floods due to incessant rains on Friday. Sunanda Tharoor case: Subramanian Swamy urges govt to expedite probe

New Delhi, June 29 (ANI): BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, has sent legal notice to the government to expedite investigation into the mysterious death of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor's wife, alleging involvement of few politicians. In January 2014, wife of Tharoor, 52-year-old Sunanda Pushkar, was found dead in a New Delhi hotel after she sent out tweets suggesting he (Tharoor) was involved in an affair with a Pakistan-based journalist. Chennai building collapse: 28 rescued so far, Vaiko visits site

Chennai, June 29 (ANI): According to latest updates in the Chennai under copnmstruction building collapse, authorities said that nine people have died, while 28 labourers are rescued after being trapped in the wreckage. Sridharan, additional principal secretary, state relief commissionor said that yet there was no clear detail about number of people trapped inside.
