Over a dozen of people have been picked up by the Pakistani armed forces during a search operation in Sui, whereas bombardments have claimed many innocent lives in Dera Bugti's Geyanderi region. Baloch political parties allege that the armed forces are carrying out door to door searches without proper warning, and have tortured and beaten up women during the operation. However, Baloch nationalist leader and representative of Balochistan at the UNHRC Mehran Marri blamed Pakistan's Nawaz Sharif Government for not protecting the rights of the people of Balochistan. The discovery of mass graves in Balochistan in January this year exposed the "pick, kill and dump" policy of the Pakistani armed forces. The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) estimates that over 100 dead bodies have been recovered from three mass graves, and have called it 'genocide' of the Baloch people. Jun 16, 2014
