PM Modi lauds BSF's 'dedication and valour' on its 49th Raising Day

New Delhi, Dec 01 (ANI): Appreciating the contribution of the Border Security Force (BSF) towards national security on its 49th Raising Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that their dedication and valour always inspire the country. PM Modi tweeted, "On BSF Raising Day, we salute our BSF personnel, who tirelessly and courageously protect our borders. Their dedication and valour always inspire." Meanwhile, in national capital Delhi, the Border Security Force (BSF) is celebrating its 49th Raising day. The force was raised on December 1, in 1965. Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh is also present at the occasion. The BSF is being extensively utilised on internal security duties in several states. Besides, it is manning 3,323 kms length Indo-Pakistan border, which runs through the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Dec 1, 2014

At least eight people injured, several feared trapped in under construction building collapse

Loni, Dec 01 (ANI): At least eight people were seriously injured and many other are feared trapped when an under construction building collapsed on labourers at an industrial park in Loni. Around 80 people were said to be present at the construction site when the scaffolding gave way but the exact number could not be confirmed by the police. The ground floor that was under construction sprawled across a large area. NC sarpanch shot dead by unidentified gunmen

Shopian, Dec 01 (ANI): An elected village-head of the National Conference was shot dead by suspected militants at his home in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district. NC village-head Mohammad Sultan Bhat, 38, was killed after suspected militants stopped his car and shot him while he was on his way home in Nazimpora on Sunday night. Bhat had died before being shifted to a medical hospital. According to the media reports, uniformed men were seen at the spot of killing. The three men - Kuldeep Singh, Mohit and Deepak - were arrested on Sunday night by the Haryana police. Police arrest hardcore Maoist in red corridor of Jharkhand

Giridih, Nov 30 (ANI): The state police arrested a hardcore Maoist and recovered explosives along with arms and ammunition in Jharkhand. Acting on a tip-off, the Giridih police sent a team to hunt the dreaded Maoist and nabbed him immediately. The Superintendent of Police (SP), Giridih, Kranti Kumar said that the nabbed Maoist had been identified as Dinesh Manjhi and was a hardcore leader and platoon commander of a Maoist organization in Jharkhand. The Maoist was pasting posters for boycotting the state elections. He had been involved in many Naxal incidents of Jharkhand. Explosives, materials for making bomb and arms have been obtained from the Maoist. Some participants said that they had little faith that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government would revoke Section 377.
