Trucks carrying flood relief material halted near border check post in Kashmir

Kathua, Sept 24 (ANI): Government authorities in Jammu and Kashmir stopped nearly 45 trucks loaded with relief material for flood victims from entering inside the valley at the border. Trucks carrying food items, utensils, blankets, medicines and more were stopped at Lakhanpur in Kathua district – the gateway to Jammu and Kashmir – by the Toll Posts of Excise Department and the Sales Tax Department due to incomplete formalities. The trucks belonged to Shri Amarnath Sewa Mandal of Patiala, an organization that works to help the poor, old and unprivileged people and is also devoted to help people undertaking the pilgrimage to sacred shrine of Amarnath. President of the organization, Mohan Deep Sharma, said their trucks have been halted for two days. Sep 24, 2014

At least 23 killed in Bilaspur bus accident

Dharamshala, Sept 24 (ANI): At least 23 people were killed and many injured when an overloaded private bus fell into Bhakra Nangal Dam's Gobind Sagar Reservoir in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. While injured passengers have been taken to Bilaspur hospital, police are suspecting the toll to rise after the rescue operation is over. SC orders states to submit affidavit in missing children case

New Delhi, Sep 24 (ANI): In the missing children case, the Supreme Court on Wednesday asked state governments to file affidavits till October 16 on whether they are complying to previous orders in the case. The court has also asked the states to mention the cause if they are not following the orders. The court has also sought response on questions like the total number of FIRs registered relating to missing children, designated police stations, total number of NGOs involved in the exercise, photos of recovered children and how many have been registered with the anti-human trafficking cell.
