Shahnawaz Hussain receives threat call, says will not get scared

New Delhi/ Patna, Nov 03 (ANI): BJP Spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain has allegedly received threat calls from Dubai for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A case has been registered after Hussain submitted a complaint at the Parliament Street police station. In his complaint, the BJP leader said he received two calls from a Dubai number when he was on his way to his residence in Delhi from the airport. RJD urges for support from people as Maoists call for boycott of Jharkhand polls

Latehar, Nov 03 (ANI): RJD candidate urged people to vote during state polls in Jharkhand as Maoists have called for boycott of elections. The five-phased state assembly polls in Jharkhand will begin from November 25 and end on December 20. The results would be announced on December 23. In Manika constituency of Jharkhand's Latehar district, rebels from Communist Party of India (Maoist) painted long declarations of boycotting state polls on walls of schools and other buildings in the marketplace. They appealed the voters not to vote and called for total boycott. This has left political parties and their candidates in a quandary, as they too appealed to the public to support them. The rebels have operated for decades across a wide swath of central and eastern India, and grew in strength during recent times in areas where poor, tribal villagers came into conflict with mining companies seeking resources for industrialization. Telangana signs MoU on supply of 1,000 MW power with Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Nov 03 (ANI): Wishing to provide round-the-clock power supply in his state, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with his Chhattisgarh counterpart Raman Singh on Monday on supply of 1,000 MW of thermal power generated there on long-term basis. Rao was accompanied by state Finance Minister E Rajender, Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao and a few other officials. Telangana Chief Minister was welcomed by Chhattisgarh Transport Minister Rajesh Munat on his arrival in Raipur. The MoU between the two Chief Ministers will facilitate signing of a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) between Chhattisgarh Power Trading Corporation and TSGenco for a period of 7 or 12 years at a price to be fixed by the Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC). Police arrest hardcore Maoist in red corridor of Jharkhand

Gumla, Nov 03 (ANI): The state police along with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has arrested a hardcore Maoist and recovered cash along with arms and ammunition in Jharkhand's Gumla district. The Gumla police had received information and immediately sent a team to hunt the dreaded Maoist. The Maoist has been identified as Sushil Ganju and Rs 18,000 were found in his pocket. Superintendent of Police (SP), Bhimsen Tuti, said that this operation was a big success for them as he had carried out many violent Maoist activities in the area. He further said that some sensitive documents and diaries having information about their organization and their activities, is also recovered. Delhi Elections: Reports of BJP wanting elections, LG calls all party meet

New Delhi, Nov 3 (ANI): In the latest development in events regarding government formation in Delhi the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has called for an all party meet to decide the further course of action. IPL scam: Mukul Mudgal committee submits final report to SC with less expectation

New Delhi, Nov 03 (ANI): The Mukul Mudgal committee probing the betting and spot fixing scandals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) submitted its final report on Monday. The committee submitted its report on role of N Srinivasan and others in the scam, in a sealed cover. The hearing on the case is scheduled for next Monday. Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal said that the report has been submitted but refrained from giving any details whatsoever. The report, however, had less expectation as lawyer Rahul Mehra said that going by the past record, nothing much can be expected from the same. Muzaffarabad/ Geneva, Nov 03: October 22, 1947 - the day when Pakistani Pashtun tribes invaded the Kashmir Valley and created mayhem, is remembered as "Black Day". Seven Indian soldiers held captive by Somali pirates for 4 years return to a grand welcome

Mumbai, Nov 03 (ANI): The seven Indian soldiers who remained in the captivity of Somali pirates for four years returned to their motherland to receive a warm welcome at the Mumbai airport. Somali pirates freed the seven Indian sailors in exchange for an undisclosed ransom on October 31. The sailors were held since the pirates hijacked the Panama-flagged ship MV Asphalt Venture in September 2010. Eight of their colleagues were freed by the pirates along with the ship in April 2011 for a ransom. Their captors said at the time that they would only release the seven sailors when their fellow Somali pirates held by Indian authorities were freed. It was not clear if their demand had been met. The seven sailors were given a grand welcome by the National Union of Seafarers of India in Mumbai. They were garlanded, held on shoulders and cheered on. Nov 3, 2014
