New Delhi, Sept 09 (ANI): Addressing a press conference in New Delhi AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that AAP is not trying to form government in Delhi but wants fresh elections. He slammed Lt Governor Najeeb Jung of favouring BJP. Kejriwal said that AAP will send a copy of the sting CD to President Pranab Mukherjee and appeal to him not to heed to Jung's advice. SC adjourns hearing on govt formation in Delhi till Oct 10

New Delhi, Sept 09 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred hearing on AAP petition seeking to dissolve Delhi Assembly till October 10. The central government told the Supreme Court that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi had written to the President saying that the BJP should be allowed to form the state government and sought four more weeks over the formation of the next government. In a major blow to AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, the Apex Court turned down to consider AAP sting that BJP was involved in horse trading. The top court will take up on October 10 AAP's affidavit on 'sting' operation showing a BJP leader allegedly offering its MLA money to defect. At least 38 people died after landslide in Udhampur of J and K

Udhampur, Sep 09 (ANI): At least 38 people are feared dead after a landslide, triggered by heavy rains, submerged an entire village in Udhampur district of Kashmir, said a police officer. Nearly 22-23 houses were buried under the landslide. The administration has recovered seven bodies while 31 people are still missing. Additional Superintendent of police, Khalil Poswal said rescue operation was underway to trace the bodies or survivors from the debris. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew over the Kashmir valley on Sunday to take stock of the situation and said that the disaster is of the whole nation. Flood Victims laud Indian Army for commendable rescue operations in JandK

Srinagar, Sep 09 (ANI): Thousands of people rescued from the flood hit areas of Kashmir, lauded the Indian Army for its commendable operation in bringing them to safety. Some 2,500 communities are destroyed or partially underwater, while thousands of people are stranded on their rooftops still waiting for rescue. Major flooding following heavy rains caught people in low-lying areas off guard and nearly 5,000 people had to be rescued by the army. About 22 Air force helicopters and four aircraft were deployed to evacuate the stranded people and to deliver relief. About 120 army units and eight teams of police reservists, equipped with boats and life jackets, were in action. Another flood victim, Umesh Yadav said that they were rescued by Army helicopters from the terrace of the building. Sep 9, 2014

India will not block sick Italian marine's treatment: Sushma

New Delhi, Sept 09 (ANI): India will not stop Italian marine facing murder charges from returning home for medical treatment, said Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, a case that has soured relations between New Delhi and Rome. Supreme Court will decide whether to accept the appeal filed by one of the two Italian marines, to go home on medical grounds for recovery after he was admitted to a hospital for a health condition similar to a mild stroke. The marines, Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone, part of a military security team protecting a tanker from piracy are accused of shooting two Indian fishermen off the coast of Kerala in February 2012. Supreme Court lawyer, KTS Tulsi, said that one of the Italian marines has filed an appeal to go back to Italy on medical grounds after he was admitted to a hospital complaining of some health problems.
