New York, Sep 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met the CEOs of 11 top US companies including Google's Eric Schmidt and PepsiCo's Indira Nooyi over breakfast. The CEOs are meeting Modi to understand his vision for the Indian economy and his vision as far as bringing FDI to India is concerned. The Prime Minister is likely to hard sell India as the best investment destination in Asia, few days after he launched the ambitious "Make in India" campaign, where he promised red carpet treatment for investors. Jayalalithaa loyalist O Panneerselvam sworn-in as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

Chennai, Sep 29 (ANI): AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's loyalist O Panneerselvam was on Monday sworn in as the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Panneerselvam, succeeds J Jayalalithaa who has been sentenced to four years imprisonment in Disproportionate Assets Case. Panneerselvam's oath taking was administered by Governor K Rosaiah after which his cabinet colleagues were sworn in. Panneerselvam and his cabinet ministers, including Natham R Vishwanathan and R Vaithilingam, were in tears during the oath taking ceremony. Panneerselvam took the oath along with 31 MLAs. Rescue operations underway as death toll increases in Japan volcano

Japan, Sep 29 (ANI): According to Japanese media, rescuers have found at least five additional people in "cardiopulmonary arrest" at the summit of the Japanese volcano that erupted two days ago. At least 36 people are feared to have died after a Japanese volcano erupted without warning at the weekend, raining ash and stones on hikers. Rescuers at the peak of Mount Ontake found what may be five new victims of the Saturday eruption, which took place as the popular hiking site was packed with climbers, including children, admiring autumn foliage. Four people have been confirmed dead so far in Japan's first fatal volcanic eruption since 1991, and at least 60 have been injured. More than 500 searchers had been combing the summit. Helicopters lifted laden stretchers one by one from the mountain's summit even as the smell of sulphur strengthened at the peak, fanning fears of toxic fumes. Sep 29, 2014
