New Delhi/ Kolkata, Feb 01 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested former Congress MP Matang Singh in Kolkata city in connection with Saradha chit fund scam case. The Enforcement Directorate too had reportedly questioned Singh in Delhi earlier. Spokesperson of CBI, Kanchan Prasad said Singh has been booked under the charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy. On Friday, CBI had questioned a powerful aide of West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Mukul Roy. Roy had so far avoided appearing before the CBI since he was summoned on January 12. Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj arrives in China on four-day visit

Beijing, Feb 01 (ANI): Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj arrived in Chinese capital, Beijing on a four-day visit. Recently, a 30 member delegation from Bangladesh was in Agartala to attend the India-Bangladesh district magistrate level Joint Border Conference. The delegation included district commissioner cum magistrates, BGB and police officials of 5 bordering districts with southern part of Tripura, while the Tripura team had DCMs, BSF and police officials of 4 bordering districts. Police arrests two Maoist rebels in Jharkhand

Palamu, Jan 31 (ANI): Police in Jharkhand on Saturday claimed major success when they arrested two Maoist rebels involved in several anti-government operations. One of the arrested rebels was a regional committee member of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), Jairam Yadav, who was involved in more than two dozen cases. He and his aide, Bhupendra Yadav, were arrested when they came to visit their family in Palamu region of the state. Police said Jairam was involved in an encounter with security forces in Katia jungle in Latehar district in 2013, where the Maoists planted an explosive inside the body of a dead soldier.
