PM Modi nominates 9 people for 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' from Assi ghat part -2

Varanasi, Nov 08 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi from Assi ghat. Modi while speaking to mediapersons said that he has launched the cleanliness campaign in Varanasi. He added that the social organizations have assured him that the Assi ghat will be cleaned as soon as possible. He further nominated nine people to carry out ‘cleanlimess drive’ further. The list includes Raju Shrivastav, Manu Sharma, singer Kailash Kher, Padma Shri Devi Parsad Dwivedi, Swami Rambhadracharya, UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, Bhojpuri playback singer Manoj Tiwari, cricketer Mohd Kaif and Suresh Raina. Kerala Bar Hotels Association President firm on bribery charges against state finance minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 08 (ANI): The working President of Bar Hotels Association of Kerala, Biju Ramesh said that he stands by his allegations of bribery against the state Finance Minister KM Mani. Ramesh had accused Mani of seeking a bribe of rupees 50 million from him, of which an amount of rupees 10 million has already been paid. Kerela Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, however, had dismissed graft allegations against Mani and called the accusations baseless. Pranab Mukherjee meets Bhutan PM to strengthen bilateral ties between two nations

J&K state authorities set up voter awareness camps for Army personnel ahead of assembly polls

Leh, Nov 08 (ANI): State authorities in Jammu and Kashmir set up voter awareness camps for Army personnel in order to reduce the number of invalid votes. The first of its kind initiative named ‘Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Plan (SVEEP)’, starting prior to the assembly polls in the state, will help Army personnel get informed about the procedure of postal ballot. Speaking to mediapersons, District Magistrate of Leh, Simrandeep Singh Gill said that similar camps have previously been organised for civilians during elections, but it is for the first time for Army personnel.
