Sports minister confident of good performance in 17th Asian Games as India bags 2 medals on Day-1

New Delhi, Sep 20 (ANI): Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday said that the Indian contingent will perform well in 17th Asian Games at Incheon, basking in the glory of two medals won on Day-1. A total of 439 gold medals in 36 sports are up for grabs over 15 days of competition. Meanwhile, former shooter and Olympic silver medallist, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore congratulated Jitu Rai on his gold medal. Kochi, Sep 20 (ANI): Kerala is giving a chance to tourists to connect to villages and visit them to know more about tradition and food. The tourism department, which markets Kerala as ‘God’s own country’ has come up with Responsible Tourism (RT), to let tourists have a hands on experience. The initiative focuses on attracting tourists to the villages, where they can see activities like weaving, pottery, making items out of coconut and also enjoy authentic Kerala cuisine. As per the state government in Kerala, RT will help in reviving age old traditional handicrafts and attract youth to follow the same. Tourists flocked villages and get elated to see women weaving with coconut leaves.
