Muflih, son of MK Muneer, the former Kerala Minister for Social Welfare and Panchayat, got married to Hafsath in a star-studded wedding ceremony at Swapna Nagari in Kozhikode on July 24.

Former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala attended the ceremony and blessed the couple. The function was also attended by actors Manju Warrier, Vijayaraghavan, Abu Salim, Seema G Nair, Nandu, Edavela Babu, Mammukoya, director Ranjith, singer MG Sreekumar and producer Sabu Cherian, among others.

The wedding reception, which was attended by nearly 13,000 people, has now set an example to many, with the minister implementing 'Green Protocol' to ensure proper disposal of food and plastic waste. The waste was segregated into food and non-food by the eco-solution firm, Green Worms, with the help of Kudumbashree and Kerala Suchitwa Mission. Plastic water bottles and spoons used by guests were taken for recycling, while the food waste was converted to organic manure.

Similar waste management mission was earlier applied during the National Games, State School Arts Festival and Assembly elections in the state.
