Palamu, Aug 19 (ANI): In a joint operation, officials of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police recovered arms and ammunition including three rifles, life cartridges and two bombs during clashes with Maoists in Jharkhand. The security personnel clashed with Communist Party of India-Maoists (CPI-M) on Monday night (August 18) in Palamu district and also recovered 33 different SIM cards, mobile phones and solar charger. Superintendent of Police, YS Ramesh, termed the arms haul a success. Two Maoists were injured during the encounter and all of them managed to escape. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s.
