Nintendo's Pokemon Go has taken the gaming world by storm, turning into a sensation overnight. The augmented reality (AR) mobile game has already been released in some regions but it is yet to come to many countries, including India. However, it appears like the makers of the game are keen to launch it in the rest of the world in the coming months.

Pokemon Go game was first released in the United States, Australia and New Zealand on July 6, and has since been released in 36 countries, with Japan becoming the latest to join the pack. The makers of the game are yet to reveal the release schedule but it appears like it will come to India soon, as it has already been added to the server list. It won't come as a surprise if the game comes to the country in July or the first half of August.

However, the popular game is yet to be released in South Korea and China, which are among the top gaming countries in the world. Koreans are so crazy about the game that many have reportedly started flooding locations like Sokcho, Yangyang, Goseong, Inje and Ulleungdo Island that are situated near the border of North Korea just to play the game. K-pop stars like Jung Joon-young and Eric Nam, who are fans of the game, were also reportedly spotted in the areas where Pokemon Go is accessible. Some areas in the country can access the game as the makers divided regions in a polygon-shaped way instead of maritime borders.

People have taken to social media to share details on how to play the game. It is also speculated that areas near Japan border too might have access to the game now that it has been released in the country.

It is not known if the game will come to South Korea at all, as it requires real-time geospatial technologies and Google's map data to be played. The country doesn't allow uncensored map data from overseas. Google has refused to use censored map data as suggested by the local government, so it is unclear if the game will ever come to country.

Pokemon Go has also run into trouble in China, the world's largest gaming market, over speculations that the U.S. and Japan could use it to spy the country and help track its military bases and other sensitive facilities. So it appears like the game may come to the country late, if it ever does.

Pokemon Go is an augmented reality mobile game for Android and iOS devices, and it will come to Windows phones at a later date. It is a free (in-app purchases required for enhancements) game that lets players catch Pokemon in real life environment.
