Sony has announced that its upcoming next-generation console, PlayStation 4 will get 11 new entertainment apps, which will all be available at launch. An updated list of third-party and indie games that will be available was also revealed.

A list of digital entertainment services like Netflix and Amazon Instant Video will be available to PlayStation 4 owners at the launch starting 15 November, Phil Rosenberg, senior vice president of business development at Sony Computer Entertainment revealed in the PlayStation Blog.

  This will be accessible at PlayStation Store at the PlayStation 4's U.S. release on 15 November.

  • Amazon Instant Video- Owners can use the services of Amazon Instant Video, which can be bought or rented with more than 150,000 titles. Players can also subscribe to Prime Instant Video and get unlimited streaming of movies and TV episodes.
  • Crackle- This free multi-platform television network from Sony Pictures Television offers TV programs and movies.
  • Crunchyroll- Owners can watch the latest of Japanese Anime like Naruto Shippuden, Attack on Titan, Bleach and more.
  • EPIX- Users can access and stream more than 3,000 titles on-demand, Hollywood franchises, original documentaries, music and comedy specials.
  • Hulu Plus- Hulu Plus offers unlimited instant streaming of current hit shows like Family Guy, The Simpsons and South Park as well as original series.
  • NBA Game Time- Users can stay in touch with their NBA game with real time stats, complete scores, stats and schedules for every game, and video highlights and recaps.
  • Netflix- Netflix offers wide variety of TV shows and movies and includes exclusive series like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.
  • NHL GameCenter LIVE- Allows you to stream out-of-market games in HD quality.
  • Redbox Instant by Verizon- Allows users to rent and stream movies on demand with rentals for DVD or Blu-Rays every month.
  • VUDU- This holds the world's largest selection of HD movies and TV shows and you can stream movies that are yet to be released on DVD.
  • YuppTV- YuppTV offers more than 150 Indian TV channels Live and includes over 600 movies to watch.
  • Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited-Sony's own Music Unlimited, will be available on day one with a global catalog of over 22 million songs. Video Unlimited is an on demand entertainment service that provides owners with access to hit Hollywood movies and TV shows from all major networks.

Updated Launch Day - Third-party Games List

Sony has updated the list of third-party and indie games for PlayStation 4 launch day lineup. It has added new titles like Trine 2: The Complete Story and Blacklight Retribution and has also removed some like Tiny Brains and Pinball Arcade.

Sony Includes 8GB of GDDR5 RAM

Sony has revealed its decision to include 8GB of GDDR5 RAM in the PlayStation 4. This was revealed in a video released by Wired where it was detailed by Yasuhiro Ootori, engineering director at Sony who tears down saying, that "the 8GB of memory is actually divided into 16 modules of 512 RAM, which surround the CPU on both sides of the motherboard," GamingBolt reported.
