Playback singer Chinmayi Sripada will be tying the knot with actor Rahul Ravindran on 6 May.

Last year, the couple had announced that they will be getting married in 2014, but did not reveal the marriage date. Now, it has been confirmed that their wedding will happen on 6 May. The marriage ceremony will be a low-profile one and will take place at a hotel in Chennai.

Chinamyi and her fiancé have decided not to accept any gifts from guests. They have requested the guests to donate the amount spent on gifts to the 17,000 ft Foundation, a charity organization in Ladakh. "A flower bouquet today costs ' 500 and what happens in weddings is that they are forgotten once the ceremony is done. So, we wanted to make it more meaningful and decided to request guests to donate to this cause instead of spending on gifts. We have also mentioned the same in the invite as well," Chinamy's mother Padmhasini told the Times of India.

Chinmayi began her singing career with the hit "Oru Deivam Thanta Poove" song in 2002-release "Kannathil Muthamittal." She has rendered her voice for several popular songs in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. Some of her hit numbers include "Sahana" from "Shivaji", "Sara Sara" from "Vaagai Soodi Vaa", "Vaarayo Vaarayo" from "Aadhavan", "Titli" from "Chennai Express" and "Idhayam" from "Kochadaiiyaan."

She is also a voice-over artiste and has dubbed for actors including Bhumika Chawla, Samantha and Sameera Reddy. Her fiancé Rahul Ravindran is an actor who made his debut in Tamil film "Moscowin Kavery" (2010). He has also starred in "Andala Rakshasi" (Telugu) and "Vanakkam Chennai" (2013).
