After setting records in India, Aamir Khan's "PK" has created records at the overseas box office. Aamir Khan's film has become first Bollywood film to earn Rs 300 crore at the overseas box office.

"PK" is also the first Bollywood film to cross Rs 300 crore mark and it remains as the highest grosser in India and overseas. "PK" was released last December in India and several overseas market. In May, the film was released in China, where it went on to create records by crossing Rs100 crore mark.

Recently the film was released in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Netherlands, and Germany, which are non-traditional markets for a Bollywood film.

"Till now, the film has collected Rs.303 crore in overseas markets and still running in few territories like Hong Kong and South Korea. 'PK' had collected Rs.348 crore net in India and the combined total stands at (over) Rs.651 crore," IANS quoted a source as saying.

The overseas box office success of "PK" has surprised director Rajkumar Hirani.

"This film surprises me every month. It does well wherever it opens, last being Hong Kong. All I can say is there's happiness," Hirani said.

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is also happy with the global success of the film.

"It's so wonderful to know that we have crossed Rs.300 crore worldwide. To me, it means that Hindi cinema has now gone global," he added.

"PK" is a satirical comedy drama that features Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. At the domestic box office, "PK" has minted Rs 340.8 crore net collections.
