Pippa Middleton aka Philippa Charlotte Middleton--Kate Middleton's younger sister--turns 32 on 6 September, 2015 (Sunday). But the latest reports suggest that she will not be celebrating her birthday with either Middleton family or boyfriend Nico Jackson. Instead, she is taking part in a Swedish swimrun.

According to the Daily Mail, Pippa will be in Stockholm prepping up for a gruelling race along with old friend Jöns Bartholdson, who will be her teammate for the ÖTILLÖ race. Apparently, ÖTILLÖ is one of the most gruelling swimrun events which involves running and swimming a 50-mile route across 26 of the Stockholm archipelago's 1,000 islands.

So what if she is busy with the swimrun, we still have reasons to celebrate Pippa's birthday.

An English socialite, an author, columnist, style icon, health and fitness freak — the second of the three Midlleton siblings, Pippa is all that and more. Pippa boasts an image of a strong, ambitious, independent woman. She has point and again proved that she carries an identity of her own, and not be known as Kate Middleton's sister alone. She is involved in charity work, and has made it to the list of Time 100 list of world's most influential people in 2012.

For those of you who recognise Pippa just as Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton's sister, here are some interesting facts about the birthday girl that will surprise you.

Kate is not Pippa's only Royal connection

Pippa lived with Earl Percy, heir to the Duke of Northumberland and to Alnwick Castle when she was in Edinburgh. The two of them reportedly dated off and on for several years after they graduated from Edinburgh.

What keeps her busy of late?

Pippa started off as a publicist and later worked at an event planning company Table Talk. But, the latest reports suggest that she is currently working part time for her parents' company, Party Pieces, and she is also part time editing the web magazine that she has created.

Fitness on her mind, always

There is no doubt that Pippa is a fitness freak. In fact, there were reports that suggested that Pippa helped Kate Middleton plan a post-delivery diet after the birth of Princess Charlotte. Every year Pippa sets herself a new challenge. In the past, she has sailed the Atlantic, climbed Mont Blanc and also competed in the world's longest cross-country ski race in Sweden. She has participated in Coast to Coast triathlon in New Zealand which involved 150 miles of running, cycling and kayaking. And recently she ran a marathon at 5,000 feet, only a week after completing a 54-mile bike ride.

Food and Humour Define Pippa

Pippa is a bigtime foodie and is said to have a wicked sense of humour and is even considered to be a bit loud and naughtier when compared to her sister Kate. She loves sushi and enjoys eating smoked whale carpaccio. Not just relishing food, Pippa admits that she even loves cooking. She often prepares slow-braised pig's cheeks, pigeon-breast salad and venison stew at dinner parties for her friends and family.

Pippa once spoke about her heavy rucksack during a ski race and that says a lot about her sense of humour. She said it was heavy because it had a Cheltenham fur hat, various other bits of clothing that PR people have sent her, and several signed copies of her book Celebrate, before revealing all the mountain equipment she really had in it.

The Friend's Club

Interestingly, Pippa's best friends are language teacher Alice St John Webster, from Marlborough, and Camilla Campion-Awwad, who now works for her father's plastic surgery practice. It has been reported that her favourite designers--Alice Temperley, Roksanda Ilincic and New York-based Misha Nonoo--are also her very close friends.
