Mira Nair came in support of 7 extremely talented independent filmmakers whose collective effort Shor Se Shuruaat was the closing film of The 13th South Asian International Film Festival on December 4, 2016. An anthology of short films, Shor Se Shuruaat is an omnibus presentation of 7 short films by 7 budding filmmakers who have been mentored by eminent stalwarts like Mira Nair, Shyam Benegal, Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar, Nagesh Kukunoor, Sriram Raghavan and Homi Adajania. The film is produced by Humaramovie, an independent film studio co-founded by Vinay Mishra, Preety Ali and Pallavi Rohatgi focusing on the next generation of talent. The studio is responsible for being for one of the largest creators of short film entertainment globally after making over 400 brilliantly made short films. The film is based on the central theme of 'Noise' and has been making the right noises at international film festivals like MAMI and SAIFF being the latest.
