How India fares in trade with Africa

The fourth edition of the India-Africa Trade Ministers' Meeting (IATMM) was held in New Delhi on Friday in preparation for the 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit 26-29 October. Imports from Africa have always been higher than exports from India. The imports increased considerably over five years from 2006-07 to 2011-12, when it peaked to about $44,000 million.But since then,imports have remained in the range of $36,000-$44,000 million. Meanwhile, exports from India have steadily risen over the past decade from over $10,000 million in 2006-07 to about $33,000 million in 2014-15. Credit: KBK
