Kayamkulam Kochunni recently made headlines after actress Priya Anand was roped in to play opposite Nivin instead of Amala Paul, who was considered for the role earlier. But when reports stated Priya replaced Amala in Kayamkulam Kochunni, the latter came forward clarifying that she herself opted out of the project due to tight schedule.

"FYI i wasn't replaced, i opted out because of date issues, i am not joblessely cooking up stuff," she tweeted.

Did Priya Anand reject 3 movies to be part of Kayamkulam Kochunni?

Meanwhile, it is understood that Priya, who has already made a mark in Bollywood, gave up three movie offers just to be part of the Nivin-starrer. The English Vinglish actress, who is apparently keen to do a period drama, decided to choose it over other films that came her way.

Sanjay and Bobby have penned the script of the big budget entertainer, which will narrate the eventful life story of Kayamkulam Kochunni, the good thief who is said to have stolen things from the rich and distributed it among the poor. The movie is scheduled to hit the theatres by the end of 2018.
