Tamil Nadu, Nov 11 (ANI): India is a country that is known for its cultural and religious diversity. It is also known for good relations between people of different faiths. And this ethos comes to the forefront, especially during the festive season. Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated by people in Coimbatore in India's southern state of Tamil Nadu, in a spirit of harmony. Here, a mosque opens its door to people from different faiths to celebrate the festival together. Students from different communities participated actively in the festival. During the celebration a community meal was also organised to strengthen the spirit of sharing and being together. Respect and tolerance for different ways of life – which include festivals, traditions, and faiths - is the essence of communal harmony, which prevails in the country. And, events like these help to strengthen the social fabric of the country.
