Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh are set to entertain badminton fans across India as add glamour to the Premier Badminton League (PBL) closing ceremony at the Siri Fort Sports Complex in New Delhi on Sunday.
Such celebrities are a regular feature in the finale of mega competitions, but what makes it much more interesting is the fact that Abhishek, Akshay and Riteish will be seen in action competing against one another in a 15-point game at the venue.
It is a special moment for all the trio, who have entertained fans all over the world with their acting skills in their respective films. But, the scenario is completely different when they face one another in a badminton match. They will have no retakes as they vie for their own place in the final as well!
Akshay is excited about it, as he will play in a stadium jam-packed with audience, including badminton stars from around the world who have made PBL a success.
"It will be a great experience playing against Abhishek and Riteish in front of international players and Delhi badminton fans," IANS quoted Akshay as saying. "PBL is a huge success as it has drawn attention from all corners and motivated the young generation. Abhishek and Riteish are big sports enthusiasts and play various sports. I am eagerly waiting for the match against them."
Abhishek, who also became the first India celebrity to feature in an NBA All-Star game in the US last year, loves various other sports as well is eager to enthral the crowd in Delhi on Sunday.
"I have played badminton many times but never in front of star players like Saina Nehwal, Cai Yun and PV Sindhu. Playing badminton against Akshay and Riteish, with whom I worked, will be a different experience. I hope to have a good game and give good competition to Khiladi Kumar and Riteish," said Abhishek.
