The CCTV footage of the fatal accident involving "Fast and Furious" actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas has made it to the internet. The video shows the Porsche Carrera GT bursting into flames after hitting a tree.

The 40-year-old actor died along with friend Rodas, 38, on Saturday after their car met with a tragic accident in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles. Paul was in the passenger seat and his friend was driving when the accident took place.

The video footage of the accident obtained by OMG! Insider from a nearby camera shows smoke engulfing the crash site seconds after the car hit a tree.

The authorities will conduct autopsies of the victims on Tuesday after obtaining dental records from the families, as they could not identify them, says a report by OMG!. The coroner is expected to identify the victims and issue a preliminary report.

Possible Causes of the Crash:

Several theories have been doing the rounds as to what might have caused the fatal accident. Here are some of the possible causes of the crash, based on statements from authorities and witnesses.

  • Speed Factor: Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement on Monday that the car was travelling at "high rate of speed" when the accident happened. The authorities said that the driver could have lose control of the car before it hit the tree.
  • Drag Race: It was speculated that the duo was involved in a drag race but it now appears that it was a single-car accident. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has said that the car was travelling alone, according to eye witnesses. The video clip obtained by OMG! Insider from a nearby CCTV also hinted that the duo was not involved in a drag race.
  • Car Malfunction: According to a report by TMZ, sources close to Always Evolving, the shop co-owned by Walker and Rodas, said that the fatal crash could be a result of mechanical failure, citing evidence of a fluid burst and subsequent fluid trail before the skid marks at the accident scene. Moreover, Rodas was a pro race-car driver and had taken part in the Porsche Cup Cars series for several years, casting doubts if he had actually lost control of the car.

Several theories have been reported by the media but for now, the authorities investigating the tragic accident have maintained that speeding might have caused the crash. The Los Angeles coroner is expected to come up with the preliminary death report in a couple of days time.
