A suicide blast took place in Peshawar, Pakistan, on Thursday morning, killing two policemen and injuring seven people.

The suicide bombing was reported from Peshawar's Hayatabad area.

A suicide bomber on a motorcycle targeted the vehicle of Deputy Commandant of Frontier Reserve Police (FRP), Dawn reported.

Deputy Commandant FRP Malik Tariq, who was in the vehicle, was injured in the attack, along with other policemen and passers-by.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, the newspaper reported.

Peshawar has been the target of several terror attacks, with the Peshawar school massacre last December being one of the deadliest in the country.

The Pakistan Taliban was also behind that attack, that had left about 140 children dead.
