At least 25 people were killed and more than 30 injured in a blast at Mastung in Pakistan's Balochistan province.

According to reports, Deputy Chairman of Pakistan's Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri was also injured in the explosion.

Reports state that the bombing targeted Haideri when he came out of a religious seminar after addressing a gathering in Mastung after weekly Friday prayers

The region where the blast occurred is around 70 kilometres from provincial capital Quetta.

District Health Officer in Mastung Dr Sher Zaman said, "25 bodies have been shifted to two hospitals in Quetta," adding that 35 injured were also being transferred to Quetta, according to Geo TV reports.

The deputy chairman Senate has been shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Quetta, said DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema.

Haideri said that the blast was very powerful. He also added that although he is not gravely injured, he is deeply saddened by the deaths which had taken place.

No terrorist outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
