A 12-year-old girl in a Pakistani village was shot dead by her sister, who later shot herself and was critically injured, after the two reportedly had a quarrel on Tuesday.
According to the girls' mother, they were quarrelling over something and she suddenly heard gunshots. The police are investigating who the gun belonged to.
The incident took place in the Qasim Rajar village in the Sanghar district in Pakistan, according to Dawn.
It is not clear what the dispute between the young girls was that led to the shocking crime.
The sisters were taken to the Sanghar Civil Hospital on Tuesday, where the younger sibling was declared dead. The older sister is said to be in a critical condition after she shot herself.
Earlier this month, a youth in the same Sanghar area shot dead his grandfather and aunt after quarrelling with them over a domestic issue, and later hanged himself, Pakistan Today had reported.
