Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious project Padmavati, which has gone through a lot of problems, is finally gearing up to roll the cameras. Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor are set to kick-start the shoot.

Deepika, who made an appearance in Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 10 for the promotion of her Hollywood flick xXx:The Return of Xander Cage after which she flew down to the US, has returned to Mumbai, Bollywood Life reported.

The Piku actress will be portraying the character of the queen of Chittor Rani Padmavati and has started prepping up her role for the film.

It was reported earlier that the first sequence would be a song shoot featuring Deepika. The gorgeous actress would be performing a Rajasthani folk dance. A set has been constructed at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai, similar to that of Padmavati's Water Palace in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh Fort.

Ranveer too is back in the city after launching the trailer of his upcoming next Befikre in Eiffel Tower, Paris. He will play the role of ruler Alauddin Khilji, which is apparently a negative role.

On the other hand, Shahid, who was on paternity break after the birth of his child Misha, is excited to start shooting for the movie. The Haider actor will be seen playing Rani Padmavati's husband King Ratan Singh of Chittor.

While there were several issues surrounding the cast of the film, the script, ego clashes between Ranveer and Shahid regarding the screen time, recently another issue came up when Ranveer apparently had put forth a condition that the first poster of Padmavati should only feature him and his rumoured girlfriend Deepika. However, with the film finally set to go on the floors, it appears like all issues have been sorted out.
