Madhavan-starrer "Irudhi Suttru" may have lost to "Aranmanai 2" at domestic box office and most of the international centres, but it has performed a lot better than Siddharth's flick in the US.
In the first weekend in the US, "Irudhi Suttru" has raked in Rs 56.98 lakh from 35 screens, reports Bollywood Hungama. This film is in the second place among Indian films, after Akshay Kumar's "Airlift". It has to be noted that the Hindi version has made lesser collection than the Tamil version.
"Saala Khadoos", the Hindi version of "Irudhi Suttru", has earned Rs 42.68 lakh from 58 screens. The other release, "Aranmanai 2", could collect only Rs 10.01 lakh. Pongal release "Kathakali" is still being screened in its third weekend in the US and has so far raked in Rs 8.72 lakh.
In the UK box office, "Irudhi Suttru" has earned Rs 11.49 lakh from seven screens. "Rajini Murugan" has done decent business in its third weekend and the total collection of the film stands at Rs 84.24 lakh.
"Irudhi Suttru" has lost to "Aranmanai 2" in the Australian box office. The Madhavan-starrer has collected only Rs 7.68 lakh while the Sundar C's horror film has raked in Rs 15.3 lakh in this part of the world.
In Malaysia, "Aranmanai 2" has made an earth-shattering collection. The movie has minted Rs 1.4 crore, but missed the opportunity to beat the record of Ajith's "Vedalam", which had collected Rs 1.74 crore in its first weekend there. The collection of "Irudhi Suttru" in this region has not been revealed yet.
Meanwhile, "Aranmanai 2" has collected over Rs 16 crore in Tamil Nadu while "Irudhi Suttru" has raked in Rs 4.4 crore from the whole of India.
