The 86th Academy Awards, which took place on Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, saw the presence of several stalwarts of the glamour and entertainment industry.

Celebrities including Anne Hathaway, Goldie Hawn, Chris Hemsworth, Kate Hudson, Samuel L. Jackson, Angelina Jolie, Michael B. Jordan, Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lawrence, Matthew McConaughey, Ewan McGregor, Bill Murray, Brad Pitt, Sidney Poitier, Gabourey Sidibe, Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Emma Watson and Naomi Watts and others came together to honour the 2013's best achievements in the film industry.

The award ceremony was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and was aired live on ABC television. In India, the 2014 Oscars was broadcasted live on Star Movies.

"Gravity" and "Dallas Buyers Club" emerged as the big winners at this Academy Awards. Alfonso Cuaron won the Best Director award for "Gravity".

"12 Years a Slave" won the best picture award. Matthew McConaughey won the best actor award for his performances in "Dallas Buyers Club".Cate Blanchett won the best actress award for her performance in "Blue Jasmine".          

Jared Leto won the supporting actor awards for "Dallas Buyers Club" and Lupita Nyong'o won the supporting actress award for "12 Years a Slave."

Best Documentary Short: The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life

Best Film Editing: Alfonso Cuarón and Mark Sanger for 'Gravity'

Best Makeup and Hairstyling: Dallas Buyers Club

Best Music (Original Score): Steven Price for 'Gravity'  

Best Music (Original Song): Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for 'Let It Go' from 'Frozen'
