The background score of "Kabali" was released on the YouTube page of Think Music, the official audio rights holder of the film, on Tuesday, Aug.9. It is a 27.56-minute audio, which brings the best of the background scores used in different parts of the film.
The audio has been grandly welcomed by fans. In about 16 hours after its release, it received over one lakh hits with more than 4,000 likes on YouTube.
The makers of "Kabali" have so far released a couple of promotional videos, including the teaser, online. But they did not unveil the trailer of the Tamil film. Among the lot, it is the teaser, which had created a huge buzz in the Indian film industry.
The teaser of "Kabali" has got over three crore hits with more than 4.64 lakh likes on YouTube. It is the highest-viewed Indian movie clip on the video-sharing website.
"Kabali" is an action entertainer in which Rajinikanth plays the role of a gangster. Radhika Apte plays his wife in the movie, which has been directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu. The movie was made with a budget of Rs. 100 crore. It has grossed over Rs. 300 crore worldwide so far.
The movie, which was released on July 22, had raked in Rs. 87.5 crore on the opening day and ended up earning Rs. 210 crore during the three-day first weekend. It has earned over Rs. 100 crore in overseas markets.
