12:40 pm: Indian cricketer and now brand ambassador of Oppo Yuvraj Singh takes stage with Barcza, Yang and Sky Li and, of course, takes a selfie with the new F1 Plus.

12:35p.m: Barcza confirms Oppo F1 Plus price at Rs 26,990. The handset will start selling in mid-April and will come in gold and rose gold colours. Key specs below:

  • Display: 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass 4, 1.66mm ultra-thin bezels and 401ppi.
  • Camera: 16MP front-facing Hi-Light camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens, PDAF, ISOCELL technology and f/2.0 aperture. The camera is equipped with features such as selfie panorama and Beautify 4.0.
  • On the rear side, the F1 Plus has a 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and TrueBright Image Signal Processor (ISP) engine. It has features such as HDR, Ultra HD, Filter mode, GIF mode, Double Exposure and Professional Mode to further enhance photography.
  • Battery: 2850mAh battery with VOOC flash charge technology. Oppo says the battery can last 14.5 hours of constant heavy usage. It can charge 75 percent in just 30 minutes.
  • Design: Oppo F1 Plus features a Full metal unibody. It measures 151.8x74.3x6.6mm and weighs 145grams.
  • Processor: 2.0GHz 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) CPU.
  • GPU: Adreno 405.
  • Software: Android 5.1 Lollipop-based ColorOS 3.1. App startup time has been boosted by 25 percent over its predecessor, ColorOS2.1.
  • RAM: 4GB.
  • Storage: 64GB, expandable up to 128GB.
  • Fingerprint scanner: An ultra-fast fingerprint scanner is integrated within the Home button of the F1 Plus with unlock speeds of just 0.2 seconds. The sensor is equipped with new technology to gradually refine the image of user's fingerprint and make it efficient.
  • Add-ons: VoLTE HD voice calls, 4G LTE, Dual SIM (hybrid SIM slot).

12:33pm: "Five mintes of charging gives two hours of talk time," Barcza says about the F1 Plus battery.

12:32pm: The F1 Plus features a 2850mAh battery with VOOC flash charge technology, which is enabled with 5V low-voltage to avoid overheating and extend the battery cycles. Barcza says 18 Million devices with VOOC have been sold so far.

12:29pm: Barcza demonstrates the new and upgraded ColorOS 3.0. The app startup time has been boosted by 25 percent over its predecessor, ColorOS2.1, Barcza says. ColorOS 3.0 is 40 percent battery effecient than ColorOS2.1.

Oppo is holding a media launch event in New Delhi Tuesday, April 5, 2016, to launch its latest F1 Plus smartphone for the Indian market. The F1 Plus, which comes as an improved version of the current F1 smartphone, features several upgrades over its predecessor.

The all-new F1 Plus is an international variant of the company's R9 smartphone, which was launched in China last month. The launch event, held at the Lalit, New Delhi, will shed more light on the handset's specs, its pricing and availability details.
