Chinese smartphone-maker OnePlus has announced that it will halt the sale of its 2016 flagship smartphone in Europe later this month.
"You might have noticed that when you place an order for the OnePlus 3, the estimated shipping date kept getting longer as time went by. The reason for this is simple. We were confident in the OnePlus 3 when it launched, but sales in mainland Europe have been way better than what we expected. Therefore, we've decided to temporarily pause sales in some countries in order to give inventory time to replenish," Carl Pei, co-founder, OnePlus, said in a statement.
The company will stop taking orders on the official e-store from Aug. 9 0:00 (CEST) until Sept. 12 23:59 (CEST).
List of regions, which will be affected include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.
The company also added that OnePlus 3 sale will also be halted in Hong Kong in this period.
That being said, prospective buyers in the aforementioned regions can still order the OnePlus 3 until Aug.9. But the delivery of the device is expected to take time due to shortage of units in the company's inventory.
